SUSTAINABILITY FROM START TO FINISH

Meeting Småland Hotel Group has taken a strategic decision regarding the Hotel Vrigstad venue. In addition to locally produced food, we have expanded our environmental focus to also include other improvements: The Nordic Ecolabel, switching from oil to geothermal energy, installation of the very latest heat recovery systems and installation of Sweden’s largest solar array on a hotel. Under the remit of our sustainability work, we also place great emphasis on social sustainability factors, crucially, giving back to the area and region in which we operate.

We make a significant contribution to the environment and we hope that as guests you appreciate that and choose us. We’re proud of this, because at the end of the day, everyone’s a winner!

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Social responsibility is a key and prioritised aspect of the circular sustainability work that Best Western Hotel Vrigstad, BestWestern Hotel Värnamo and Hotel Ullinge pursue in partnership. We believe it’s really important to give back to the area and region in which we operate and work. That’s why we are the proud sponsors of HV71, IFK Värnamo, Padel Arena Vrigstad, Vrigstads IF, Stensjöns IF, Sävsjö Floorball Club & HA74.

Good working conditions and working environment for all our team-members. In all our departments, we have a mix of men and women in a wide spread of ages. We have employees from different countries and with different cultures. We also welcome job training from other workplaces at or facility as well as employment for people wirh special needs. Of course we are members of the employer organization Visita to ensure fair working conditions for each and everyone.

Energy generated by the sun currently provides some of the power needed to run the Best Western Hotel Vrigstad venue. Our solar array shows guests, employees and other stakeholders a clear solution as to how a hotel can both consume and help generate renewable energy. The investment is part of the venue’s business strategy of creating long-term value and contributing to sustainable development, both locally and globally.

The Meeting Småland Hotel Group, which includes Best Western Hotel Vrigstad, believes that it’s important toinvest in sustainable solutions, as it’s essentially a way of future-proofing a profitable business and continuing to be an attractive venue for our customers. Circular resources are a priority focus area for Meeting Småland Hotel Group,and looking ahead, Hotel Vrigstad will continue to maintain a sustainable approach via further low-carbon investments. With a circular mindset, we are gradually making the transition and creating an effective cycle that furtherminimises our climate impact and our emissions, and ensures efficient use ofour resources, which is entirely consistent with our vision of a more sustainable future for us, our children and future generations.
